Machining Chip Dryer

The generation of residual oils and metallic chips from machining processes cover all mechanical, automotive and foundry industries. Large companies are already implementing measures to contain the environmental impact of their machining centers. We can mention several options, from the simplest to those that require higher company framework:

  1. The segregation of the several oils used for machining, the appropriate disposal of impregnated metallic chips, allowing the selective collection and responsibility transfer on third parties storage and handling;
  2. The implementation of decanter tanks to separate oil from emulsions using post-filtration systems and reuse of the same products, or ETE disposal, it is check that, in that case, you can never dispose chips for refusion, due to the problems caused by foundry gases;
  3. Chips where residual humidity remains at a 3% range, where oil/emulsions recovery for regeneration is efficient, but the residues remaining on chips do not always make it viable for recovery.

BRUTHUS C is a thermal chip drying unit, where oils/emulsions are vaporized under temperatures compatible with the characteristic of oil used, ensuring a removal efficiency higher than any other process in the market. The balance between the mass and energy flow applied to the material movement dynamics inside the equipment allows that the time of contact with the temperature eliminates the oil/emulsion laid up on the chips, which characterizes the recovery of metallic chips in 100% of the cases, with extremely low power consumption.

The whole operating system can be controlled through Man-machine interface (MMI), ensuring an accurate control on the parameters, as: feeding speed, residence time, exhaustion flow, discharge and temperature. It is worth to emphasize that the equipment can operate with residual power resulting from other production processes or by means of a combined residual burner/power group.

For the metallic chip discharge procedure you can also choose the selective separation among ferrous and nonferrous chips.

.

Since metals are 100% recyclable, when an innovative technology is applied based on the development of clean mechanisms, we offer the following to the industry:

  1. Ore saving;
  2. Power saving;
  3. Waste disposal saving;
  4. Reduces environmental impacts;
  5. Reduction of degraded areas due to raw materials extraction;

Some companies that work with the machining chip dryer:

  • Continental Teves
  • Embraco S/A
  • Friedrich Grohe – Portugal
  • TRW Automotive
